Lease your rooftop

Potentia Solar gives commercial / industrial property owners the means to earn additional income by leasing their high-square-footage rooftops for solar PV systems. There is no capital investment required. Potentia Solar develops, owns, and operates the system for the duration of the lease. Leases are typically on a 20-year basis. In most cases we retain 100% ownership of our installations, assuming 100% of the risk. We work in partnership with the property owner, who collects rent from Potentia Solar for the use of their roof space.

Where those kilowatts go

The DC electricity generated by Potentia Solar rooftop panels is first converted to grid-ready AC power before being metered and routed to the local distribution company (LDC). Though our customers’ buildings may be the first in line to tap that newly generated energy, its cost will remain identical to their existing rates. But from here, the owner derives extra income from Potentia Solar; for each kWh of electricity generated, a percentage of income derived is returned to the property owner as roof-space rent.

If none of these options suit your needs, we are happy to discuss alternate arrangements. However your lease is structured, we deliver the finished project on budget, on time and to the highest construction and engineering standards in the industry.

How it works: 3 simple steps.

Step 1: Request a proposal

Call 416-703-1911 or email us to request a proposal. We will conduct a rooftop suitability inspection for a Potentia Solar PV system. Shortly afterward we will present you with a formal proposal outlining in detail the feasibility of installing a Potentia Solar PV rooftop system, as well as flexible payment plan options and our approved equipment selection.

Step 2: Sign lease

On your approval of our proposal, and your rental payment plan, we present a 20-year lease covering the rental income paid to you, full installation plans, completion deadlines, our ongoing obligations and related details for your review.

Step 3: Start earning

On signing, we commence installation, completing it according to the contracted timeframe. Potentia Solar owns and manages all aspects of the rooftop system, so your only ‘responsibility’ is to collect the rent for our use of your rooftop.
